Digging, planting, watering and harvesting is a way to stay motivated, get out of the house and socialize

The activity consists of preparing the space for new crops, tasks aimed at cleaning and conditioning the garden, to provide support in the clearing of common areas and improvement of the environment.

The project is carried out in a municipal park and within the space provided for social gardens we have a rest area, a drinking water fountain to cool off, etc.

This activity is aimed at people of all ages since teamwork facilitates the participation of the entire staff.

More information about the experience

The visit will consist of two parts:

  • First part: contextualisation and visit to the project: Opportunity to learn about the project, exchange opinions, ask questions, talk to volunteers and users.
  • Second part: cleaning the surroundings, preparing the plot and planting new crops.

All necessary materials will be provided to participants.

They are outdoor or indoor spaces for growing vegetables, fruits, legumes, aromatic plants or medicinal herbs on a domestic scale. Urban gardens contribute to the recovery, improvement or use of urban land, enabling the regeneration of degraded spaces, avoiding the spontaneous and illegal colonization of residual or abandoned spaces. Urban agriculture provides fresh food, generates employment, recycles urban waste, creates green belts and strengthens the resilience of cities in the face of climate change.
